Trail bikes are the most well-rounded of mountain bike styles, falling between cross-country and All-mountain/enduro bikes in terms of their balance of weight vs. strength and uphill vs. downhill capabilities.

Typical attributes include:

  • 120-150mm of fork travel
  • Tire widths of 2.4-3"
  • Neutral head tube angles from 66º to 68º
  • Short chainstays of 415-430mm for quicker handling and to aid in lifting the front wheel
