The most aggressive of mountain bikes, Downhill/Freeride bikes have long travel suspension and are designed exclusively for high-speed downhill performance.
Typical attributes include:
- 180-203mm of fork travel and dual crown moto-style forks
- Tire widths around 2.4"
- Slack head tube angles of less than 65º
- Longer chainstays around 435-445mm to balance rider weight with the lengthened wheelbase
